Membership

• Membership in the Nets program is open to any woman 50 years of age and older.
• Full membership shall be granted within the calendar year the player attains age 50.
• Younger women are welcome to practice with the Nets. All liability forms must be signed before playing.

Age Divisions

The Nets shall be regarded as a single organization divided into various age groups. Those age groups shall be
50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+.

New Members

The Nets welcome new members at any time during the year. Prior experience in basketball is not necessary but
recommended. Players may be called upon to assist in the welcoming of new members. It is also the goal of the
Nets to integrate new members as quickly as possible into the full program.

Duties and Responsiblities

Members are expected/encouraged to:

a) Attend practice regularly.

b) Be attentive, responsive, and focused during practices.

c) Show respect to coaches and teammates at all times.

d) Attend quarterly team meetings.

e) Address comments or concerns directly to their team captain.

Member Pledge Drive

a) The Net’s main fundraiser is the annual member pledge drive. There are many reasons for fundraising:

i. tournament registration fees

ii. player and coach stipends

iii. liability insurance

iv. uniforms and appearance shirts

v. equipment and various other expenses

b) It is held in January and runs through December of each year.

c) The pledges can be paid in one lump sum or throughout the year and are tax deductible.

d) All members are encouraged to contribute to the Nets during this pledge drive. No specific amount is required.
